"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.
If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.
But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.
Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...
My Thoughts:

"I smiled."

That last two words of the book made me grin like a maniac then exclaim "Oh my gooooosh!" at the top of my lungs! I certainly thought it was the last book, then I debated with myself that it couldn't be the last one because so much can still happen. Then I browsed the first few pages and learned it wasn't the last one yet. Hooray! I was so relieved at that time.

So to speak, Deity was insanely thrilling right to the core. The twists hit me like a hurricane when I wasn't expecting it the most. Just when I thought the climax was done, I'm surprised to read on and find out that there's more. No, it was not the Danielle Steele kind of plottings or anti-climactic events, but Deity was way over far from that. It was the kind of climax that you thought you would die. But no, there was even a greater plot waiting to be unleashed at the end of the book that made me reap my soul for a second! I love love the seriousness of the events in the story but Jennifer never fails to mix it with funny lines. Such a paradoxif you think about it. She just makes the perfect punchlines! The ending was a serious mind killer! I need Appolyon stat!!!

As for the characters, Alex is the kind of female character I truly truly like. Besides the ass-kicking abilities and snarky comments that blurts out uncensored from her mouth, her genuine good heart (yes she has that despite her irrational actions at times) and altruism is to be admired. What to expect from her here? Well, she has matured..a bit, hehe, and she's definitely thinking more before acting, and I think that's about it. She's the same old Alex we all love. Aiden on the other hand...I don't know how to even describe how chivalrous he is. I admit I wasn't such a fan of Aiden from the last two books, by that I mean he's not my crush, but the scales are being tipped because I'm starting to liiikeee him in Deity! Seth also brought out another side of him we haven't seen yet. But darn, I still love his sarcastic retorts at Alex. Those two just make me laugh like I'm a crazy person!

In the end, I realize there's so much untold stories. So much to think about after reading it, so much tiiime to wait before the next one comes out! ( i hope hope hope Spencer hill press will still give me an ARC of the next books! :)) because you know what these books make me? It makes me think about it well over after I turned the last page over. Heck, this review doesn't even cover how much I loved it. Jennifer Armentrout is really one of the most talented author I've come across who delivers the perfect pitch!

****OOh, and I just wanna share that I was quoted on the finished copy of Deity. And this was what was written:

"Deity was insanely thrilling right to the core. The twists hit me like a hurricane when I wasn't expecting it the most.” - Coffee, Books and Me
