Nestled along the North Carolina coast, the Outer Banks Tennis Academy is the world's most elite training facility. In this pressure-cooker environment, futures are forged in blood and sweat, and dreams are shattered in an instant.
Penny Harrison, a rising female star, is determined to win the French Open and beat her archrival, Zina Lutrova. But when her coach imports British bad boy Alex Russell as her new training partner, will Penny be able to keep her laser-like focus?
Tennis is all Jasmine Randazzo has ever known. The daughter of two Grand Slam champions, she's hell-bent on extending her family’s legacy and writing her own happily-ever-after...until her chosen Prince Charming gives her the just-friends speech right before the biggest junior tournament of the year, the Outer Banks Classic.
With a powerful serve and killer forehand, newcomer Indiana Gaffney is turning heads. She’s thrilled by all of the attention, especially from Jack Harrison, Penny’s agent and hot older brother, except he keeps backing off every time things start heating up.
With so much at stake, dreams—and hearts—are bound to break. Welcome to OBX: Where LOVE is a four-letter word, on and off the court.

Wimbledon match just concluded the other day and for real this time, and Murray broke the record and a Brit (but he is technically Scottish, but for Wimbledon.. anywy!) won the Wimbledon! this ia great considering the last Brit who won was in 1936. Anyway! I'm not here to talk about Wimbledon but this book. I used to tend to fall asleep watching tennis matches on tv before. However for the past two yrs, I changed that status...and I started to like watching them. Well, at least the ones played by my fave players. Teehee. The exhilaration of the rallies and such are so thrilling and let's just say I've become such a fan. But it was only recently that I read about tennis rules and so I finally understood how the sport works, lol. Then I remembered I participated in Jennifer’s OBXers team (which involves a game with points ;)) with some serious tennis mojo and immediately read it.. And hours later I'm done. This is the book I'm talking about.

This time around, I understood what I was reading. I started reading this months ago and remembered having a difficult time with the terminologies and technicalities, though it was explained in the book too. But now, I totally understand and can imagine the story, and each game narrated was played. Then I discovered how rich this novel is of tennis and the romance story budding behind the theme.

Told from three different POVs (which took some time getting used to), this highly energetic book is vibrating with excitement. I almost feel like I'm inside the court with the players. Penny, Indy and Jasmine were all practically unknown to each other until series of events brought them together. Then there were the boys, who are really goodlooking physically (considering they play tennis, so that's a given), and of course they complicated the whole story. Spicing things a bit here and there. I was really surprised I liked the novel. Plus, not much awkward scenes, as in there are sex scenes but they're told in a wholesome way, so no awkwardness there. There are some swear words though...but they don't really bother much. Anyway! The narration was excellent and the story was actually fantastic., and new to me..Somewhat..I only had one issue: the ending was a cliffhanger. It was abruptly cut and i sure didn't expect things to end like that. Nevertheless, I inhaled the book straight to my system. Great job for Jennifer Lacopelli! :)
