Today, I just finished reading one of my most favorite book series, the Infernal Devices. I am a mix of happiness nd sadness right now. But one thing's for sure, this book is EPIC. :)
Title: Clockwork Princess
Series: The Infernal Devices #3
Author: Cassandra Clare
Publisher: Margaret McElderry books (Simon & Schuster)
Published on: March 19, 2013
Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy
Tessa Gray should be happy - aren't all brides happy?Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa's heart, will do anything to save her.
My Thoughts:
I have never shed so many tears for any of Ms. Cassandra Clare's books than I have in Clockwork Princess. The Clockwork Princess is a love story more than it is an adventure/mystery book. I was in love the moment I was introduced with the Shadowhunters many years before, and it of course started with City of Bones. But The Mortal Instruments holds a very different story (plot) from The Infernal Devices.
In the many ways I've imagined the series to end, it was not like this. I fantasized and wished for so many impossible feats to happen. But I am happy none of those petty wishes transpired. Because THIS, the ending CP2 has is more than perfect. It is something you have never, even in your wildest dreams, imagined. Only Cassandra Clare could have given this much happy ending to her created characters. I cried, I mourned, I grieved like I grieved my own. I rejoiced, I laughed, I giggled and gasped like every smile was my lifeline. So much emotions were invoked from me (and now I know I will suffer tomorrow for bloodshot and pinched eyes).
Clockwork Princess carries an air of epic great quality a great foreverly remembered YA book series deserves. The perfect timing for everything happened. Action, adventure, a bit of a pause from all the action, drama, romance, staggering action, devastation, full-blown adrenaline-filled fight scenes, a time for healing, and a sure-win epilogue. Everything was delicate. Every moment was a miracle. Every page treasured. Never have I read a book with this kind of love. A love held by three people. Steadfast and never changing. (It makes me so hopeful that our generation today might still have a chance at that, lol. Me, to be specific). The love shared by Tessa and Will and Jem was something that is not seen in any other book. Well, at least I haven't. It's just so unique and jsut...makes me, a very talkative girl, speechless.
This book will want you to memorize and breathe literature. There is grief, but there is hope. Where there is lost, love is found. Messes will not always end in disasters. Joy can be found in love, and love in every heart. :)
