Hi guys! Lovely morning to everyone! I am so excited to be part of Cindy Bennett’s Rapunzel Untangled blog tour. And to kick off the tour too! The tour will run from february 4 until february 24. I read Rapunzel Untangled a few months back and I absolutely adored and loved it. If you love love stories and fairy tales, well, this is Rapunzel’s modern version, and Cindy Bennett caught the perfect tone and taste of the original story but blended it greatly with our modern setting. Anyway, you can find my review HERE.
As part of the tour, I will be sharing with you the novel’s blurb, a special character interview and a giveaway (INTERNATIONAL!) generously shared by our fab author, Cindy Bennett. Without further ado...

Fab Fane Fannigan: Are you saying you live at GOTHEL MANSION??? RG: My mother calls it Gothel Manor, so maybe that’s different? Fab Fane Flannigan: No, Rapunzel, there’s only one that I know of. It has to be the same. So you live in the tower? RG: Uh, the tower? I don’t know. Is it a tower? Fab Fane Flannigan: Yes, it is. I know where it is. Rapunzel, promise me one thing.RG: Okay. Fab Fane Flannigan: Don’t Google your house. Rapunzel is not your average teenager. For one thing, she has a serious illness that keeps her inside the mysterious Gothel Mansion. And for another, her hair is 15 feet long. Not to mention that she’s also the key to ultimately saving the world from certain destruction. But then she meets a boy named Fane, who changes all she has ever known, and she decides to risk everything familiar to find out who she really is. Filled with romance, adventure, and mystery, Rapunzel Untangled is one story you won’t want to put down. Discover the true meaning of love and friendship in this modern twist to the classic fairytale.
Interview with Fab Fane and Rapunzel
I had a great opportunity to interview two of the most interesting characters in books, and it was fun. Enjoy!
Welcome to Coffee, Books and Me! I’m happy to have you here today Fane, especially you Rapunzel.

Fane: Thank you for having us.
Let’s start with how did the two of you meet?
Rapunzel: I accidentally found this website called Facebook. I’d never heard of it before because I wasn’t allowed to use the internet for anything except homework.
Fane: I received this strange request from someone whose name was only RG, with no info on her profile page.
Rapunzel: It was scary at first talking to him—
Fane (in mock surprise): I was scary?
Rapunzel: Not you, just talking to someone I didn’t know.
Fane: You shouldn’t talk to strangers, you know.
Rapunzel (exasperated but smiling): Fane!
Fane (looking too innocent): What?
Describe each other in three words.

Fane: Beautiful, kind, forgiving.
Rapunzel (blushing): Brave, handsome, and . . . (shyly) a good kisser.
(Fane grins knowingly)
*Aww this two!
Fane, what was your first impression when you first saw Rapunzel?
Fane: I was surprised at how genuinely beautiful she was. I’d never even seen a picture of her. She was so nice I guess I was just surprised she had a face to match. And that hair. I mean . . . wow!
Rapunzel, if you can change your own name, would you do it? If you will, what name would you pick?
Rapunzel: I actually had the chance to change my name back to my birth name, but I chose to keep Rapunzel. It’s the name I’ve always identified myself with, and I no longer remember that girl whose name was Sara. So I’m Rapunzel now. Plus . . . Fane likes it.
For the both of you: If you can design your own house, would you fashion it after the Gothel Mansion?
Rapunzel: No!
Fane (taking Rapunzel’s hand to calm her): No, I don’t think either of us would. That place holds too many bad memories. It was kind of a weird house anyway with all those stairs and doorways . . . It was a reflection of Gothel’s craziness.
*
Rapunzel, I know you’ve been through a lot these past few days/weeks/months, but I just have to ask, did you not feel any strange emptiness when you were growing up?
Rapunzel: I think I did always feel an emptiness, I just didn’t realize it until I found Fane, and then the rest of the world. I was lonely without knowing how lonely I truly was. I think subconsciously I was always searching, which is why when I did find Facebook, I was courageous enough to reach out.
What’s your greatest achievement in life (so far)?
Rapunzel: Defeating Vedmak. I had no idea I had it in me to stand up to someone so scary.
Fane: Tricking Rapunzel into loving me.
Rapunzel (giving Fane a playful shove): You didn’t have to trick me. It was easy to love you.
Fane: That’s true.
(Rapunzel rolls her eyes)
Let’s play a little game called this or that, shall we?

Coffee or tea?
Fane: Tea. The herbal kind. Weird, I know. Don’t tell my buddies, okay? In fact, can we strike this comment?
Rapunzel: I’ve never had either one. I guess that’s something else for me to try.
Short hair or long hair?
Fane (running a hand down Rapunzel’s mid-back length hair): Long, definitely.
Rapunzel: Yeah, but not longer than this. (glancing up at Fane) Short on Fane.
M&M’s or skittles? (I just realized this has some significance to the both of you)
Rapunzel: M&M’s. No, Skittles. No, M&M’s. Both, I suppose.
Fane: Whatever she says.
pizza or pasta?
Rapunzel: Pizza.
Fane: Agreed.
high school or home school?
Rapunzel: High school. I missed all of that.
Fane: Wherever she is.
Rapunzel: Fane, you can’t just keep agreeing with me.
Fane: Sure I can.
(Rapunzel rolls her eyes again, grinning)
jeans or dress? (for Rapunzel on your self, and Fane, how you would like to see Rapunzel on)
Rapunzel: Jeans, definitely. So much easier to move around in.
Fane: And easier for navigating ladders, right? (laughs) I like her in both, of course, but yeah, jeans. (Waggles his eyebrows. Rapunzel shakes her head, blushing)
Fane: Lord of the Rings.
Rapunzel: I like them both, but I’ll side with Fane on this one.
Lastly, Facebook or skype?
Fane: Skype! It was much better speaking to Rapunzel when I could look at her.
Rapunzel: Yeah, but I have a certain fondness for Facebook. It’s how I found Fane.
Okay, Fane, I just have to ask (too), did you have any experience on wall climbing, or do you like that sport?

Fane (laughs): No previous experience before I met Rapunzel, but I’m pretty good at it now. In fact, I kinda like wall climbing now.
(Rapunzel smiles at him)
Any advice to other teenagers?
Fane: If you get a friend request from RG on Facebook, say yes.
Rapunzel: Sheesh, Fane, can’t you ever be serious? I’d advise them to appreciate good friends, and understand the importance of family. Not everyone in the world is so lucky to have good friends and family.
Fane: Yup, that’s a good one.
Thanks for gracing me with your presence Fane and Rapunzel, despite your busy schedules. Best of luck to the both of you!
Rapunzel: Thanks for letting us stop by, and for putting up with Fane’s teasing.
Fane: You know you love it.
Rapunzel: Can’t argue with that.

Cindy C Bennett was born and raised in beautiful Salt Lake City, growing up in the shadows of the majestic Rocky Mountains. She and her husband - who happens to be her high-school sweetheart - raised two sons and two daughters. She's now blessed with two daughters-in-law as well. She developed a love of writing in high school when a teacher introduced her to the joys of escaping reality for ten minutes each day in writing.
When she's not writing, reading, or answering emails (notice there's no mention of cleaning, cooking, or anything remotely domestic), she can often be found riding her Harley through the beautiful canyons near her home. (Yes, she rides a Harley.)
