it's almost
time for war.
Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.
She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.
Or from Warner, who.
My Thoughts:
I would have given this book a 5,if Juliette just wasn't so irritating in the beginning of the book. I seriously seriously hated her whining voice. It feels like her voice of reason has been abducted. But still, she gained back my respect by the middle until the end. And still, this book is awesome...And intense. It trigerred emotions in me I haven't felt in the past few weeks.
I feel like the title 'Unravel Me' was not talking about Juliette, but more on Warner, but yeah okay, it's also about Juliette. In the beginning, she made so so many stupid and unwarranted mistakes and decisions that I don't even want to talk about. I kep shouting at my reader because of this. Yea, I looked like a crazy woman. Lol. The only shining part during those Juliette-ridden foolishness was Kenji. Even Adam could not penetrate through Juliette like that as both of them are so so selfishly in love and can't think properly past each other's lips. They always kiss kiss kiss. It was kind of grossing me out a bit that that's the only bonding time they do. I'm kind of sure it's the only thing they know about each other, other than their shared past (when they children plus the eloping, I mean escaping Sector 5). Whenever Juliette's irrational behavior began, I just kept thinking that she's such a teenager! Anyway, back to Kenji. Gosh, Kenji made me laugh and cheer on him whenever he talks with Juliette. He is her conscience and her superego. Yep.
Moving on, when Warner entered the picture, things got really really interesting. Many factors and emotions were played on here. And what a twist I did not expect! I was always questioning things and where to cast my vote, or just see where things will lead to. It was very unraveling. Lots of sudden rush whenever Warner expresses his feelings to Juliette. It wasn't anything like Adam. The way he crafted his words were deep, intense, sweet and true. And he was very honest and straightforward. I also can't help but compare Adam and Warner and their 'relationship' with Juliette (that tortured but lucky girl!). Adam is Juliette's first love. But their relationship was built on survival and therefore though their love is true but they don't know much about each other still. It's all feelings. On the other hand, I feel like with Warner, it's based on experience, many leap of faith circumstances, and it's where everything falls through. Everything she has yet to experience about love, she did with Warner. Maybe it will be a first love happily ever after or second chances in love lasts forever. I dunno, I'm so torn and so confused because I like both Adam and Warner. And I really feel like this series is more of a love story just set in a dystopian world.
Although there were some progress in the protest with the Reestablishment, but that government is worldwide, and let's just see how things move through in the next and last book. I loved the in-depth picture Mafi gave us of the Mutant-like people. Strangely reminds me of x-men (of course, duh). The action sandwiched between other things is also a good one, kind of gave us a breather before launching the massive attack. Again, the unique wordings of the novel makes you feel more of the character's feelings (that's Juliette). And it feels more raw and real. Excellent read.
