Rapunzel is not your average teenager.
For one thing, she has a serious illness that keeps her inside the mysterious Gothel Mansion. And for another, her hair is 15 feet long. Not to mention that she’s also the key to ultimately saving the world from certain destruction. But then she meets a boy named Fane, who changes all she has ever known, and she decides to risk everything familiar to find out who she really is.
Filled with romance, adventure, and mystery, Rapunzel Untangled is one story you won’t want to put down. Discover the true meaning of love and friendship in this modern twist to the classic fairytale.

My Thoughts:

A could-not-put-it-down book. Loved the modern retelling of Rapunzel, close to the original story yet still it stood out on its own.

The idea of making the tower a mansion, and giving more of a freedom to Rapunzel through education and internet usage was a relief. Huge relief. Even meeting Fab Fane Fannigan through Facebook was amusing and really modern. I like it. I love that I can see the original Rapunzel story in the novel yet it was also able to stand up on its own, with its own twist and additional wicked evil antagonists. I was also swooning a lot over Fane and Rpunzel's interactions. Though it was quite a cliche that Rapunzel would end up with a fellow beautiful person, but I liked how lax yet has a true kind heart Fane has. He was a bit unnerving but at the same time also admirable. Though the other parts were too much to good to be true, but still i like the novel, and that's the happily ever after part, I guess.

With a swoon-worthy not-so but still typical protagonist guy, a chic modern retelling of Rapunzel, and amusing and lovely story, Rapunzel Untangled is a definite must-read charmer for all fairytale and YA contemporary fans. :)

  2. I love Rapunzel, and I loved the Disney telling, so I'm a bit cautious about book retellings, but this sounds like so much fun!

    Loved your review!
