Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by for Regine’s Book blog tour. When I first learned of this book, I was invited to be part of the blog tour. I haven’t shared much about my life here in my blog but about once or twice I mentioned that my Dad died of cancer (liver) last year. What I’m really saying is cancer is not a stranger to me.
In Regine’s Book, we catch a glimpse of a teen girl’s life, as she fought a battle with cancer. I’ve read a few books with cancer as part of the theme, but what stood out with Regine’s book is that it happened in real life. Sure the fiction books got it right, but there’s just something more special and authentic with reading it from a person who actually went through it. I haven’t read the whole thing yet, just glimpses and snippets, and I even visited her blog, and I already cried. I personally can’t wait to read everything.
You can read more about the book below and on the website HERE. And if you want to visit Regine’s blog, it’s in her native Norwegian, it can be found HERE.
And don’t forget to enter the giveaway below. :)

When 17-year-old Regine Stokke was diagnosed with leukemia, she began blogging about her experiences, which became the basis for this book. She wrote about her 15-month struggle, and her desire to experience life. Through music, photography, and time spent with loved ones, she made the most of her short life. She was a typical teenager with an amazing will to live, and the lessons she learned have relevance to us all.
“Regine’s voice is matter-of-fact and honest…A heartfelt and visually appealing window into Regine’s last year.” -Kirkus Reviews
“Stokke’s openness and honesty that are the chief draw; readers will feel as though they have truly come to know her. (Regine’s Book is) a rare, valuable window into life with a terminal illness.” -PUblishers Weekly

Hi Jenna -
ReplyDeleteI'm also participating in the Zest Books blog tour for Regine's Book - my post will be going up this Friday, 12/6.
I also lost my Mom to liver cancer, in 2010 - and there's not a single day that goes by, when I don't think about her.
I knew this book was going to be a difficult read - but only because of how authentic it really was. Reading everything from Regine's POV and living the moments through her - while devastating - was a journey I won't soon forget.
My sister is an oncology nurse for Children's Hospital here in Seattle - and this book will be going over to her, as soon as I'm finished. It's way too important of a book, to let it just sit on my shelf, when I'm done.
So happy to be participating in such a great tour with you!
Hi Erin! Such a sweet comment! I'm happy someone appreciated my post. So happy to be part of this tour too, and im happy you'll be participating too. Will check out ir post ths friday...
