I'm coming for you.
The whispers haunt her dreams and fill her waking hours with dread. Something odd is happening. Something...unnatural.
Possession of the living. Resurrection of the dead. And Natalie Stewart is caught right in the middle. Jonathon, the one person she thought she could trust, has become a double agent for the dark side. But he plays the part so well, Natalie has to wonder just how much he's really acting.
She can't even see what it is she's fighting. But the cost of losing her heart, her sanity...her soul.(goodreads)

My Thoughts:

After 12 days, I finally finished the book. It wasn't really boring. But it was not something that had me hold on my brath as I read it. There were no sparks but I still liked it. But compared to the first book, I prefer Darker Still. I also did not expect that there's a third book.

Despite these things I appreciated many stuffs in the book. I like how it stuck to the timeline it belonged with. Such was a time when religion was a must for each person. I liked how Christianity was pressed that relationship with God is the important thing and not religion itself. Between the battle of light versus death, light always wins. The slow but building of the story was adequate, the pace was good and enough mystery was there.but the only problem I had with it was it lacked the compelling power to infuse the readers to finish the book asap.

But the character development of the characters were good. Miss Natalie turned out braver and more spokeful. The new characters were a fresh Ddition to the story too. Overall, though I liked the love story part of the story, there wasn't much of it already, ut this book focused on the mystery. Still, a good read.

  2. I haven't read either books but the consensus seems to be that this is a weak follow up to the first one. 12 days to finish... I would've given up by day 3. Good job!

    Happy holidays!
