Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…
That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.
Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.
My Thoughts:
Wow oh wow. What a fantastic and emotional book. It was literally rippling with emotions- raw and real. The story. It was Everything I was expecting and not expecting at all. I expected it t be awesome, and I certainly didn't expect where the plot went.
When I read the summary of the book, I didn't get the gist of the story, but I was sure I would later on, when I was already reading it. and fathomed thhe book did I do. The beginning started with a notion that it's going to be a seriosu contemporary YA romance, with lots of sweet and spine tingling scenes, and yeah it did, and more. The issues of abuse Hopeless tackled ruined my mind. Colleen Hoover is such a genius when it comes to turning the story in a puzzle I never knew it had. Plus the way she connected all the scenes, and the characters, and the title? Perfect! I'm not even exaggerating.
I am so so glad I picked this one when I was thinking of what book to read next from my gigantic pile, lol. Hopeless is not a hopeless story, but it was hopeful and it's just going to get endless rain of appreciation from me. Oh! Though the book has some sexual content, those scenes were written with YA readers in mind. I think. Lol. S if you're asking me if I'd recommend this book? I'll answer you with a resounding "YEAH!". Duh. :) though!! This is a mature young adult book, so I won't recommend this to the younger ones ;)
