Title: Better Than Chocolate

Sweet Dreams Chocolate Company has been in the Sterling family for generations, ever since Great-Grandma Rose literally dreamed up her first fabulous recipe. But now it looks as if they're about to lose Sweet Dreams to the bank—and that would be a disaster, not only for the family but for the town of Icicle Falls, Washington. Can Samantha, the oldest daughter and new head of the company, come up with a way to save it?After Samantha does some brainstorming with her mother and sisters, inspiration strikes. They'll have a chocolate festival! Time's running out, but the Sterling women are determined and the town's behind them, so everything's bound to go smoothly .
Or not. Events seem to be conspiring against Samantha, and her mother's attempts to help aren't helping. To make matters worse, the fate of her company is in the hands of her archenemy, Blake Preston, the bank manager with the football-hero good looks. It's enough to drive her to chocolate. But Blake's also enough to convince her that (believe it or not) there's something even better than chocolate.
Q&A With Sheila Roberts
Hi Sheila, welcome to Coffee, Books and Me!I'm happy to be here. Thanks for having me!Not that this is a slambook or anything, but can you describe yourself in one sentence? :)I'm a woman who loves to entertain, have fun and generally live life to the fullest.
What is your book about?
BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE is about the Sterling family, who live in Icicle Falls. And the oldest Sterling daughter, Samantha, is on a mission: to save the family chocolate company. (I don't know about you, but I'm all for saving chocolate!)
What inspired you to write your book with chocolate as your "main ingredient"? ;)
When I was creating the town of Icicle Falls for this new series, my town could be anything I wanted it to be. So I fashioned it after one of my favorite towns in the state of Washington: Leavenworth. A lovely mountain town, great shops, great people. That was pretty close to ideal. Then I asked myself, what else would I want in my ideal town and naturally, a chocolate factory came to mind.
What or who do we need to watch out for in the book and why?
Watch out for poor Blake Preston's boss. He's a bad guy. And, I'm thinkin' Samantha's sister Cecily had better watch out for Todd Black. He's a hottie but he's also a bit of a bad boy.
What's the perfect recipe for a good novel?
Characters you'd want to be friends with, a problem to solve and a happy ending. Mix well and enjoy.
Any upcoming projects or other things you want to say to our readers?
I do hope they'll also check out MERRY EX-MAS, my November release. That was such a fun book to write. I'm hoping readers will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. We even made a country music video as a bonus. Check out Merry Christmas Mama on Youtube and you can meet Jake O'Brien, one of the main characters... and see him getting in big touble!
Thanks for stopping by on the blog! :)
