Title: Sacrifice
Series: Legacy #3
Author: Cayla Kluver
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
goodreads, | amazon | Barnes & Nobles | Indie Bound | BookDepository
This is not the time for the fight to end. Now is when the fight will begin. This is the time to regain what has been lost.Alera
Queen of a fallen kingdom, secretly in love with the enemy.
Shaselle
Daughter of a murdered father, rebel with a cause.
One lives behind the former Hytanican palace walls and walks the razor's edge to keep the fragile peace in her beloved homeland. The other slips through the war-torn streets, seeking retribution for her family's tragedy, following whispers of insurgency.
Both face choices that will separate them from those they cannot help but love. As their stories intertwine, a conspiracy ignites that may end in slavery or death—or lead to freedom anew, if only each can face what must be sacrificed.
5 Reasons why I love the “Legacy Trilogy” by Cayla Kluver so much!
1. Historical fiction.
I am a fan of YA historical fictions. There is no doubt about it. Almost everything about it delights me. The dresses. The carriages. The castle. The grand balls. And every single time that I read one, my only wish is “If only I could travel back in time...”:)
Look at the dresses on the cover! GORGEOUS! I personally love the red dress in Sacrifice. :)
2. The setting.
Ever since I've read the Narnia series, I loved reading every made-up world in books I've read. There's just something captivating about them. The City of Hyttanica is a place I want to visit and check out (when there’s no war, of course).
Check out the map!
Super cool, right?
3. The story in itself.
The incredible plot. The excruciating (yes, because they’re painful!) twists. The love-hate relationship between the characters. Romance, action, and all the court drama. Everything I like in a novel is basically in the series.
4. Steldor.
I'm a fan. Ever since Legacy. Then, he was still kind of a jerk, but there's just something about his bad boy attitude that lures me in. Teehee. But seriously, he’s also sweet and charming and caring. I kind of think he wasn’t really given a fair chance by Alera. She’s too clouded by her other emotions to truly appreciate Steldor. Don’t worry Steldor baby, I appreciate you. lol. I wanna say more but I don’t want to spoil you but if you read the series, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

5. The author, Cayla Kluver.
Of course, without her ideas, the book wouldn’t be here (and I wouldn’t have met Steldor!) Anyway, the major reason I look up to her is this: When I first read Legacy (also from netgalley), I fell in love with the book and when I get obsessed, I tend to read everything about the book- discussions, book reviews, writeups, plus-I stalk the author-- not in a creepy way, but I check out their websites and blogs and what other people say about them. It was during one of those crazed sesh that I learned Cayla was only 14 when she wrote the series. 14! I remember when I was 14, the only accomplishment I’ve done is eat and eat and eat. lol. But not Cayla, when she was 14, she wrote a book! I was 17 when I was able to write a novel (which is not published by the way) So, wow. What a talented gal. I just know she'll go onto greater heights! :)
I just remembered, I saw her last June at BEA, and she’s very sweet to everyone! Not to mention she’s pretty too. :)
So, those were the 5 reasons why I love the series. I’m sure you all have your reasons too! Feel free to share them on the comments below or better yet, tweet them to Cayla!

About Cayla Kluver - goodreads, website | twitter | facebookWith the book industry currently in a debate over print vs. digital, Cayla Kluver, born October 2, 1992 in Wisconsin, truly embodies the next generation of author. At just 19 years-old, Cayla has already published her debut novel Legacy in three different formats. It all began with self-publication and the creation of her own publishing house (with the help of her mom, called: Forsooth Publishing) in 2008. Cayla was then offered a digital debut with Amazon (was the premier title for Amazon’s self-publishing program, Amazon Encore) in 2009. Finally in 2010 Cayla was signed to a three book publishing deal with Harlequin TEEN.She has cats, dogs and horses, and watches more crime shows than is probably healthy. Her office is filled with twinkly lights, candles and fun colors. She loves Robert Louis Stevenson and the Beatles, and you can follow her on Twitter @CaylaKL, as well as join her fan page on Facebook.
