Hi guys! I am so excited to be part of this tour. Entice is the second book of the Embrace series of Jessica Shirvington. Wow. This one is so much better than the first book, and that's saying a lot since second-book-of-a-series has a curse of not living up to the 1st book's hype.
Well, anyway, Entice was incredible and so much more. Every now and then, action sprung up and the intrigues just keeps on getting better. I actually forgot the reason why Phoenix is now hated by everyone in book 2. As far as I remembered, he was not yet the villain at the end of Embrace, then all of a sudden he was already in Entice. Sigh. My heart is bleeding for Phoenix's demise. On the other note, I love how things are going with Lincoln and Violet, though I very much wanted to strangle them both in the end for choosing a path they could not have chosen in the end. Ugh, a bit spoilery here but if I could just give them and advice, it will be this: "We all are destined to die, and it's up to us how we choose to live. In love or in pain? At least in the end Rudyard and Nyla (they are Grigoris who are soulmates- super rare) did not regret anything because they both loved. Pain and sacrifice is just a part of it." my point is I'm sure one of them will die ahead of the other, Whether they are together now or not will not matter much because it's still the same-they will mourn and will lose the will to live, in one way or the other. Enough of that said, I must say the new characters brought a lot of thrill and fun in the story. The main characters are more upbeat and I can feel the tension relax a bit because they are already many of them now bonding. Numbers sure tend to affect the mood of the story. My most fave of the new characters is Spence. He is what Violet needs, :)
The complexity of the story was enormous and confusing at times. However, I still like the cryptics and different judgements each character has to offer. Everyone had something. Never a dull moment. There was even a time when I'm already the one getting tired and actually exhausted and drained from everyone's activities. Especially for Violet, it was all a round of stress, rolling one after the other. But, it didn't hurt that because of this, I learned to like her more in Entice.
I won't drag you into more of my messy review, but I will tell you this, Entice is somthing you should all read. The story is amazing, the characters are too. Plus the quotes before each chapter begins? The best. I quoted them a lot in twitter today. :) Seriously, this is a must read esp for those paranormal/fantasy YA fans: angels.
