Thoughts on Tuesdays (2): BEA excitement!

Thoughts on Tuesdays is a meme here on my blog that I thought of making. I’ll post anything under the sun.

This week I will talk about Book Expo America 2012, and my excitement about it! Even though I live in the Philippines which is very much far away from New York, but when I found out we will go on a vacation to the States this May, I asked my mom if I can go to BEA this year and I think the heavens opened up because my mom said yes. My excitement was just indescribable. But, there’s always the waiting time to know if I got approved with a media press pass. Two weeks to wait! But even without that, I joined the Book Blogger Convention so I can still be able to experience it somehow.

I first learned of BEA when I started blogging last year. I was like, “whoa, who knew there’s a convention like this? Why did I just learn of this now?” Not that I’ll be able to go at that time.

Two weeks passed from when I applied for a media press pass, and I still didn’t get an email, so it means I got approved! I was extremely elated! Then, last April, I received an email that I wasn’t approved of my media press pass request. I was like “huh?”. I was so confused because they e-mailed me months later (I applied last January). But then I consoled myself with the thought that I can just register as an attendee or I can still go to the convention. Two days later, they emailed me again that there was some mistake (about time something, it was really confusing) but the important thing is I’m still going with a media press pass! And this time, I’m sure there will be no other email coming about it being declined, lol. I did this little happy dance when I read the email, and my smile was plastered across my face, and I just can’t stop smiling. (In fact, my sister and mother were irritated with me because they were woken up with my noise--ooh btw, I read the email at like wee hours of the morning). Imagine my happiness.

So, since this is my first time, I’m really really nervous. I invited my friend who now lives in New York that she register so we can go together. (But she’s still busy and she still hasn’t registered, but it’s okay). I planned on asking some blogger friends to go with them to BEA, but I hadn’t really done that yet. And then! After a few days after receiving my final confirmation of BEA press pass, a blogger friend asked me if I want to go together to BEA since it’s her first time too! Her name is Jeanna from The Bucket List ! I was so happy and  we’re now keeping in touch and planning for BEA!

I thank God for all these blessings, and I just can’t wait for BEA! Thank you to every blogger who share their tips for BEA. I’m still looking for more tips, and if you know some articles about it, feel free to share them here or to me! I will be super grateful to you! :)

So, are you going to BEA? hope to meet you there! :)
