Lizzie Davenport has been reincarnated from Regency Era, England ... but she doesn't know it yet.
Then Drew Carmichael transfers into Lizzie's high school at the beginning of the year, and she feels a connection to him, almost like she knows him. She can't stop thinking about him, but whenever she tries talking with him about the mysteries behind her feelings, he makes it clear that he wants nothing to do with her. Reaching him is even more difficult because she has a boyfriend, Jeremy, who has started to become full of himself after being elected co-captain of the varsity soccer team, and her flirtatious best friend Chelsea starts dating Drew soon after his arrival. So why can't she get him out of her mind?
Even though Lizzie knows she should let go of her fascination with Drew, fighting fate isn't going to be easy.
My Thoughts:
It was a fast, comfortable and easy read. Not too much complications in the story and it was everything was easily understandable that’s why it was easy to read. The story itself isn’t unique, but it’s very lovable. It’s like an adorable cute little puppy we all can’t help but love. That’s Remembrance. Page-turner, it was. Although I have to say the characters have very complicated characteristics and attitudes. The story’s great but the characters annoyed me at times.
First, Drew. He’s hot and cold, he just can’t make up his mind. I know that’s how it was supposed to be. I’ve read so many characters with the same conflicted interests and problems. Like Edward from Twilight. Both want something they can’t have and are trying to avoid, but in the end they give up. Edward handled it pretty well, I mean I wasn’t much irritated with how he handled it. But Drew, I can’t even explain it much, but if you read it or you’ll read it, you’ll understand what I’m talking about. And Lizzie, the girl. She’s too gullible and she believes too much easily. She’s not thinking things through. I know she has this strong unexplained feelings toward Drew, but she failed to think things more detailed. She kept everything to herself. And I hated it when she didn’t have the slightest pride to herself. At one point I was like “Come on Liz, who run the world? GIRLS!” Have some pride girl! Don’t jump to fast! So I’m glad that nearing the end, she did show some integrity for herself.
I must also mention one particular thing I didn’t like with the story. I can’t point at it clearly, but it has something to do with how assuming Lizzie was. How quick she was to trust something she’s not sure of, and willing to let go of everything. Impulsive. yes. Nevertheless, the simplicity and sweetness of the novel won me over. :)
