There are two sides to every breakup.
This is Jordan and Courtney, totally in love. Sure, they were an unlikely high school couple. But they clicked; it worked. They're even going to the same college, and driving cross-country together for orientation.
Then Jordan dumps Courtney -- for a girl he met on the Internet.
It's too late to change plans, so the road trip is on. Courtney's heartbroken, but figures she can tough it out for a few days. La la la -- this is Courtney pretending not to care.
But in a strange twist, Jordan cares. A lot.
Turns out, he's got a secret or two that he's not telling Courtney. And it has everything to do with why they broke up, why they can't get back together, and how, in spite of it all, this couple is destined for each other.

My Thoughts:

Let me first just comment on the cover, I think it symbolizes on how Jordan and Courtney just broke up and are forced into this 3-day trip to Boston for college. But the thing where the woman is looking at aproblem in the car’s engine, it pertains to the broken relationship of Jordan and Courtney, as well as their twisted family.

I liked how simple the story was and how it was told switching from the past and the present day, as well as from Jordan then Courtney’s point of view. I liked how the main problem wasn’t too serious as in life-and-death kind of thing. It’s nothing much heavy that talks and confidence can’t fixed. However, confidence is so hard to boost up when you’re afraid of the consequences of your actions. Two-way street. We always have choices on things, and I liked how this is shown in the story. Courtney was your usual American girl. Jordan too is your usual American teenage guy. They party and stuff. In each of their account, we catch a glimpse of the truth they hide behind their lies. There were lots of funny scenes, you know the kind that the characters are seriously furious but the scenes are really funny and they do some ridiculous things because of their shaking, stuffs like that. B.J. and Jocelyn (the best friends of Jordan and Courtney) are completely different people who are also foolish. B.J. is the kind who is (I’m sorry for the word but there is no less harsh of a word) stupid to begin with. I don’t even know how he manages to do activities of daily living without accidentally falling of the ocean. And Jocelyn is a cool girl. And imagine them hooking up. And having a mature relationship. I think this is what caused B.J. to have and develop into a person who know how to give advise etc. and he really gave Jordan some good advices. The world must be ending. haha.

In conclusion, I enjoyed reading this a lot. (even though a certain friend pressured me into reading it,haah).

  1. This book is very good for people that like love stories and their pro's and con's. For an overview Two way Street was about this girl named Courtney and boy named Jordan they were totally in love. But out of no where Jordan broke Courtney's heart and dumped her for what he said a Myspace girl. But you later come to find out it was a total cover-up. Jordan's mom was having an affair with Courtney's dad and Courtney's dad threatened Jordan to break up with Courtney. But Courtney's dad made her still go on the college trip with him after she thinks he broke up with her for that Myspace girl. On this trip several shocking things happen.
