Hooked Blog Tour [character interview+giveaway]

Hi guys! Today, we have a tour stop for Hooked blog tour. This is hosted by Kismet BT. :)

I am so excited and happy to be a part of this blog tour, and as part of the tour I was also given an e-ARC (kind of like a complementary copy). I’ve read the book last month and it was really awesome, I loved it. (I’ll post my review tomorrow, so you might want to check that out, hehe).

We have an exclusive character interview today (yey! can’t wait for you to read it) and there’s a daily giveaway plus there’s a Harlequin grand prize pack. You must enter, because awesome prizes awaits you!

Oh, and a special announcement guys! this is GOOD news. Everyone who pre-orders Hooked between the dates January 7 – January 29 will receive an official hot pink Hooked wristband and autographed Hooked bookmark swag pack (as pictured below). Simply email your proof of purchase dated between between January 7 – January 29, to contest@lizfichera.com to receive your swag pack.  US/Canada only.

What a generous and prize-filled blog tour. Anyway, without further blabbers from me...theCHARACTER INTERVIEW!

Good day Ryan and Fred! Welcome to Coffee, Books and Me. :)
Thank you for having us!

How are you guys?
Ryan: Fine.
Fred: Nervous.
(aww. Fred is such a cute gal)

You've been classmates since freshmen year, but I'm curious, how and when did the both of you see each other in a different light?
Ryan: I guess I’d been in a couple of classes with Fred, but I hadn’t really noticed her till junior year.
Fred: Gee, thanks, Ryan.
Ryan: *shrugs* Sorry, but it’s true.
Fred: You were too busy admiring your own brilliance.
Ryan: *lowers chin*  You’re the quiet one.
Fred: Well, it’s true. Admit it.
Ryan: It’s true. I wasted a lot of time being stupid and chillin’ with the wrong friends. And if there was a way to crawl into a time machine and get those years back to be with Fred instead, I’d do it. *reaches for Fred’s hand*
Fred: *smirk-smiles* Good answer.  I may have noticed Ryan before he noticed me, but I began to see him differently, probably at our first golf tournament.
Ryan: For me it was at our first golf practice.  *exhales*  Her swing blew me away. Then she was everywhere I looked.  I began to see her in my head even when she wasn’t around.  To be honest, it scared me a little.

(Ryan is so sweet!)
First impression on this "re-meet"?
Fred: I pretty much thought he was a jerk.
Ryan: I thought she was crazy, joining an all boys’ golf team and all.

Since we're on the subject of firsts, I would like to invite you guys to play a short game of Q&A with "first thought's the answer" (about the both of you) with me, game?
Fred/Ryan: Okay.

Favorite color?
Fred: Blue
Ryan: Fred’s eyes.
Fred: *blushes*
(this couple causes ants to crawl around here, lol)

Biggest dream.
Fred: I want to play golf for a Division 1 college team.
Ryan: I want to make it to Friday without pissing off my parents.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be and why?
Fred: I wish I could express myself better with my words.  People think I’m shy—and I am—but I am definitely not weak.  I just have a harder time expressing myself, especially with people outside my tribe.  I would also try to be less serious—wait.  You said “one thing.”  That’s two.  Sorry.
Ryan: Me? Ask Fred. I’m sure she’s got a list.
Fred: Not really. Well, maybe one or two things…
Ryan: What?
Fred: Your putting needs work.
Ryan: You are possessed.
Fred: Tell me about it.

Your best quality.
Fred: *sinks lower in the chair* I’m not comfortable with this question. Ask Ryan.
Ryan: Have you seen her play golf?! She’s got the most natural swing I’ve ever seen.  But her best quality? That’s easy: everything.
Fred: Ryan, stop it.
Ryan: Can’t help it. *pulls Fred closer*
(seriously, these people! lol.)

Pick one distinguish physical quality you admire about the other?
Fred: I think I love his hands best.  I love watching him swing a golf club too.  I love…
Ryan: Fred? Everything.
Fred: *lowers her eyes*
Ryan: But I can’t live without seeing the smile in her eyes every day.  *lowers gaze to meet Fred’s* And the way she wraps a strand of her hair around her finger whenever she’s deep in thought, like in class at school? Drives me crazy.  Good crazy. Yep, that’s it. The girl drives me good crazy.
(quite obvious Ryan,lol)

If stuck in an island, would you pick Ryan/Fred to stay with you?
Ryan: *leans head toward Fred* Yup.
Fred: *pauses*  Hmmmm.  *narrows eyes*  Ryan, of course, but I might have to take Sam Tracy with us.  He’s a little bit more versed in wilderness survivor skills.  One of us has to be practical.
Ryan: *presses hand to heart* That.Hurts! *pauses* But Fred’s right. I’d be a disaster.  See?  I told you she was smart.
Fred: *smiles*
Ryan: Okay, dammit. Bring Sam too.

Why golf?
Fred: I’ve loved the sport ever since the first day I picked up a club at the course where my dad’s a grounds keeper. Probably a year or so ago.  It’s the only thing I’ve ever been really good at too.
Ryan: So not true.
Fred: True.
Ryan: Not. You’re good at a lot of things. Like school. All the teachers love you. You’re just too shy to admit it.  And you make really good macaroni and cheese.
Fred: *shakes head*  Well, what about you?
Ryan: Pretty much the same for me.  I’ve loved golf ever since I was a little kid and my dad took me to play at the country club near our house practically every weekend.  But, in my case, I’m really not good at much else.  That’s a fact.
Fred: So not true.
Ryan: Very true.
Fred: Gah!

Good answers guys! Thanks for being such good sports. Last one. If you were to give advice to fellow teenagers, what would you say to them and why?
Fred: Don’t let anyone stand in the way of your dreams, even your own insecurities.
Ryan: *points thumb at Fred* What she said.

Thanks for dropping by guys! Best of luck to your golfing and schooling. ;)
Thank you for having us!

I really enjoyed that interview with Ryan and Fred. Hope you did too!

About Liz Fichera

Liz is an American author living in the American Southwest by way of Chicago.Born and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona, after college, never expecting to live more than one year among cactus and people who’d never seen snow. She was wrong. It certainly didn't hurt that she met her future husband in Phoenix too. Most of her stories are set in the American Southwest because she thinks the desert is a cool place. Living in Phoenix, she's surrounded by Native American culture and influences, not to mention intriguing Hohokam petroglyphs and centuries-old canals. There are over 20 tribes in Arizona and she's lucky to be neighbors to the Gila River and the Salt River Indian Communities. When she's not busy writing her next novel, she likes to travel, visit museums, support local theater productions, hike, and pretend that she's training for a triathlon. She posts a lot of photos from her desert and mountain hikes on her Facebook and Twitter pages. In no particular order, she has been chased by javalinas, rattlesnakes, coyotes, and even one curious black bear. She would love to connect with you there too!
