For those who didn't know what challenge I'm talking about, you can find more about it here:
Just a quick flashback, here were the books I aimed to read this month:
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chboksy
Fearless by Francine Pascal
These were the books I had in my bookshelf for like forever, and I challenged myself to read them all this month. But Alas! i was only able to read 4 out of 7. The good thing? It's more than half of the total count. Haha. Aand, I truly enjoyed reading the four books than I ended up finishing the whole Switched trilogy (yep, I totally looked for last two books after Switched). And I am now looking forward to Days of Blood and Starlight! The bad news? I didn't like The Hollow very much :( And to think I have the second book ready to read.
Conclusion:
I will read The perks and Fearless sometime this November. As for The Haunted, it might be awhile before I go back into that story..haha.
Thanks for sticking up and the encouragements guys. I think challenging your self once in a while (this means pressuring ourself) is actually good (if in moderation only though) because it helps develop your discipline and mold your determination. :)) and yes, this can be applied in real life. :)

awesome reads for this challenge! your books are pretty huge so thats good!
ReplyDeleteI've only read Daughter of smoke and bones and a bit of the perks of being a wallflower which I later DNF-ed.

The Perks of Being A Wallflower was quick read for me. Not more than a few hours, tops. But that was also back in high school when I was reading like 5 books a day (nerd alert!).
ReplyDeleteI like how you only put 7 books on your list. Some bloggers I've seen have a whole bookshelf they want to get to some months and it makes my head spin.
Also, don't you HATE it when you read the first in a series and have high expectations so you buy the second, and the first isn't as great as you'd hoped? That happened with Eve by Anna Carey... I'll still read the second book (as I now own it), but I think the third book might have to be a library borrow... Sometimes it seems a trilogy just isn't needed - it's like the big thing now a days - more books = more money? I'd rather read an amazing stand alone novel and be upset there is no sequel then read a trilogy that was so so.
Anyways, thanks for sharing!
I think you did really good for how book some of those books are, it would take me awhile and you never know what's going to happen in life! I'm glad you enjoyed most of the books you read. (:
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! And to Sallie, thanks for the awesome comment. I wanted to be realistic and stuff. And wow! U read 5 books a day before? I can barely read 5 books in a week. That'll be my most in a week. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, i feel the same way, some trilogies aren't good.
