Through the mysterious powers of a cherished book of stories, they leave their world behind and find themselves in a foreign land full of wonder and magic where they come face-to-face with the fairy tale characters they grew up reading about. But after a series of encounters with witches, wolves, goblins, and trolls alike, getting back home is going to be harder than they thought.(goodreads)

My Thoughts:

I know Chris Colfer is a talented person, but I didn't let myself have a high expectation on his book. But man! Was it good. It was really an amazing and a great read. If you know me, you'll know I love every adventure book, and The Land of Stories: the Wishing Spell had lots of it.
A very fast-paced, adventure, fairytale book, every children would love this. It's a mash up of endings for almost all of the fairytale characters we know. I love how creative and innovative Chris is in what he did with the story we all loved and heard about growing up. The main characters: Alex and Conner were easily loved by me. Conner is so sarcastic and honest to himself and everyone, he ends up twice being funny than he already is. The sensible Alex, on the other hand, is such a smart kid and one who has a heart for fairytales. I remember Hermione Granger in Alex, I don't know why. And the beginning of the book reminded me of Narnia. The drawings on each chapter are so adorable, and the titles are very informative. The plot was also good, there were times my guesses were right but I also had some wrong assumptions, haha.
The book held good values and lessons for each reader- young or old. I really enjoyed reading it and I'm sure you would too. As the last sentence was all said, I kind of knew this is not the end.
