My Thoughts:


There is no doubt that this is one of my now favorite series. Extremely entertaining and thrilling. I can't help myself from reading it through and through. I was exceptionally drawn to the story from the moment I started reading the first page. The last book that extracted from me this kind of excitement and addiction to a story is A Million Suns, and before that just a few. Now, I truly understand why many fellow bloggers and readers urge me to read this series, haha. Thank you to those many girls!

Gabi and Lia were brought back in time through placing their handprints inside a tomb. Bored to death by having to follow their mom's rules, they seek adventure, only they did not expect this kind of adventure. I have always loved reading time travel books. While the other books I've read have some weird and complicated explanations of how the time travel happened, in this novel, we are not busied to think of that, just some handprint thing, no other explanation other than God must have had a plan for this to happen, and that is good enough for me, heck it actually makes more sense.

The historical approach Lisa Bergren took was admirable, I wasn't at all bored when I read the parts about history. Gabi is such a vibrant and witty narrator that anyone could not help but like. The characters of the novel are all well thought off and just right. The awesome plot and twists will bring you such a thrill as it did to me. A little action here, drama there, and lots of hilarious parts. The end will leave you wanting for more, and mayhap speaking like you were in the 14th century Italy as well. Haha.
