Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry the ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her 'happy ever after' begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring but in the panic that followed, she has now lost her phone. As she paces shakily round the hotel foyer she spots an abandoned phone in a bin. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect!
Well, perfect except the phone's owner, businessman Sam Roxton doesn't agree. He wants his phone back and doesn't appreciate Poppy reading all his messages and wading into his personal life.
What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other's lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents... she soon realises that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.
My Thoughts:
(immediately after reading)-Gosh. I’m just floating in love right now. I haven’t felt so high like what I’m feeling right now since I don’t know when. Sure, I felt all kinds of toe-dip, butterflies in my stomach, love high with some of the books I’ve read so far this year, BUT THIS. THIS IS different. AAAAH.
* * * (after a day)
Poppy is getting married in a few days, and she lost her engagement ring. Let me repeat that. her engagement ring and it’s a family heirloom! Now that’s trouble! And to add up her problems, her phone just got stolen, how the heck will the hotel concierge contact her when they found her ring? But luck quickly found its way back to her as she found a phone from the bin. Never mind that it’s from the trash can, just as it’s still functioning. With her new found phone comes the unexpected. Meeting the phone’s “owner” Sam. This is where an amazing unanticipated series of events happen.
I laughed. (A LOT). I cried. I swooned. I hated. and I LOVED. all in this novel. Sophie Kinsella did it again!
:) :) :)
xoxoxoxoxo
PS. PLEASE TELL ME THERE’S A SEQUEL? (the ending was really REALLY aaah.)

ReplyDeletePoppy Wyatt’s day is really going badly. She has lost the antique betrothal ring her fiancé Magnus gave her and her phone has been stolen. She thinks her luck has changed when she finds a perfectly good phone stuck in the waste bin and so she confiscates it. The phone rings, she answers it pretending to be an automated reply, listens to a cryptic message, and writes it down on an old Lion King program.
