Hi everyone! Today we have here with us the author of “Geek Girl”, Cindy Bennett, as part of her blog tour with her new book. To spice up the post, we played a little “This or that” game. Enjoy!
Hi Cindy, welcome to Coffee Books and Me. Hope you’ll have fun in the “game”. Let’s start with..
YA or Adult?
Have to go with YA—and not just because I write it. Not so long ago I would have chosen adult simply for the lack of good YA choices, but with the explosion of YA, and the quality of many of the books, I have to go with YA.
Dress or Jeans?
Jeans, absolutely. I’m all about the comfort. My days of dressing to look good no matter how uncomfortable I was are long gone.
Opera or Classical?
Tough one since I love both, but I guess I’d go with opera. I adore Bocelli and Brightman (probably my two favs), Potts, the Three Tenors, and Callas to name a few. My favorite opera? Othello. Opera is always best when someone dies at the end (lol).
Skittles or M&M’s?
M&M’s. Not that I dislike Skittles, but I like chocolate so much better.
Night owl or early bird?
Night owl. I stay up until about 4 or 5 a.m. writing then sleep until 11 or 12.
Coffee or Tea?
Neither. I’ve never liked coffee (though the smell is divine), and tea is something I relate to drinking when you don’t feel well. Now, if you take that same hot water and add powdered milk, chocolate and some cream to make hot chocolate, then we’re talking!
Dine in or eat out?
Eat out. I enjoy home cooked meals—but only if I don’t have to cook them myself. I’m not much of a cook.
Writing or reading?
Writing. I love to read (and don’t have nearly enough time for it) but writing really stretches the creative muscles. Plus I’ve discovered I’m a bit of a control freak in that when I’m reading, many times I want the story to go a different way and change it in my head as I’m reading. So it’s better to write and control the story myself.
Lights on or lights off?
Lights on. I don’t really care for pitch dark. I’m a fan of the horror genre—both books and movies. I can easily creep myself out if it’s too dark.
Christmas or Halloween?
Christmas. There’s just something about the season of giving and good cheer, crowds in malls, pine tree scents in the air, and time spent with family celebrating the birth of Christ that appeals to me.
Ben & Jerry’s or Haagen Dazs? :)
Oooh, I have to pick one? Argh. Okay, I guess Haagen Dazs. No good reason.
last one is tricky...
the Geek or the Hottie? :)
Love this question! Gotta go with the Geek. It’s a bit stereotyping, I know, but hotties have been known to be arrogant, egotistical jerks at times. Geeks are generally smart, can talk geek movies with me, and we all know that geeks rule the world. :o)
Thanks for stopping by Cindy! I had so much fun!

GEEK GIRL in a flash!
Jen’s life of rebelling and sneaking out has grown stale. On a whim, Jen makes a bet to turn Trevor, a nice little geek, into a “bad boy.” Hanging out with the geeks, however, pulls Jen into a world she never dreamed existed. But when Trevor finds out about the wager, all bets are off.

I can add one more "this and that" about Cindy. She's the queen of grammar. And she sends her friends hot pink wigs so they stop complaining about her (writing) demands.
